I don't think it's a good idea to create fake Ids it doesn't help much, all it does it create confusion and make it hard for the admin to keep up with the posts. Remember it takes more energy to cheat. I have a Forum with over 4200 members and the way I did it. I asked people at first to join my forum. I asked as many people as possible. Before i knew it I had over 100 members. The problem I had very very few of them were making posts. To tell you the truth I did not care much. What I was looking is for a database of people to contact later on and push to make posts. After I reached over 200 members I started few contests. Most of the contests did not cost me a dime. I learned that the best way to keep people coming I to offer them a good content. Few weeks later we had over 500 members and over 1000 posts. I offered my members free banner ads when they reach a certain number of posts. I offered them free tips download when they refer so many members and so and so. I m so proud of my Forums and so are many of our members. By using their signature not only they promote their sites or blogs but they also help their sites achieve a better rank thanks to the back links.
